Tom Tsivgas - Township Committee Candidate

Community Service

Tom is currently the Green Brook Little League Board President and has served on the Board since 2006.  Tom can usually be found at the Little League Facility long before game time and is often the last to leave.  This is a continuance of a lifetime of service to his neighborhood and country.

Tom often worked with inner city youth at the YMCA, while a resident of Jersey City, and proudly served his country as a Specialist 4th Class – Army-Airborne Paratrooper 509th Combat Support Team during the Vietnam Conflict from 1973 – 1977.

Tom now seeks to continue this lifetime of service by representing the citizens of Green Brook as an elected member of our Township Committee.

Education

Tom attended Jersey City State College and received his Computer Engineering degree from Control Data Institute, located in New York, NY in 1984.

Tom graduated from Vicenza High School, Vicenza Italy, while in the U.S. Army.

Professional Background

Tom is a successful businessman, starting his first business in 1979, shortly after his tour of duty.  He opened a popular restaurant in Jersey City called Tom’s Pizzeria.

After receiving his degree in Computer Engineering, Tom went to work for a third party computer maintenance company, becoming a regional manager.  Tom supervised a force of 28 employees, was responsible for managing several million dollars worth of accounts, including the firm's largest account.

In 1990 Tom again went to work for himself and today, 20 years later, Tom is the owner and CEO of Yesterday’s Business Computers (YBC), Inc, located here in Somerset County.  YBC is a multinational computer asset management company with operations in New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Canada, South Africa, Australia, and London.

Tom's business success is great experience to bring to Green Brook.
