Eddie Pfeifer

Community Service:

Ed Pfeifer volunteers as a member of many organizations.  Prior to being elected in 2008, Ed was a member of the Green Brook Recreation Committee for 3 years, and the Green Brook Youth Services Commission for 2 years. Ed enjoys working with children and giving back to the community through these committees.

This year Ed will be the liaison to the Green Brook Fire Department, the Department of Public Works, and is also on the Green Brook Flood Commission.

Ed served as a Volunteer Firefighter and EMS for 12 years, during that time Ed served as the Volunteer Fire Department Secretary for 3 terms.

He has been a member of the NJ Exempt Fireman’s Association for 21 years, and served as the WRFD Exempt Association President for 4 terms.

Currently Ed is a member of APCO International – Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials.

Ed also was the Secretary for the NJ Communication Officers Association for 4 terms.

To give back to Green Brook Ed has presented 911 Instruction for Career Day at IEF School for the past 8 years, coached Watchung Hills Ponytail Softball League for 8 years, coached Green Brook Little League for 3 years, and has participated in Green Brook Volunteer Day since it’s inception.

Eddie and his wife, Karen have lived in Green Brook for 11 years with their two children, Breana and Carly, ages 15 and 10.

His oldest daughter is a sophomore at Watchung Hills Regional High School and his youngest is a 4th grader at Green Brook Middle School.

Ed is a familiar face at both IEF and GBMS, volunteering with the PTO, at book fairs, holiday gift sales and participating in Career Day.

Ed is eager to help bring Accountability, Communication, and Transparency to this small community.

Education:

Ed is a graduate of Bergen County Police & Fire Academy, Wood-Ridge High School and Bergen County Technical High School.

Ed has certifications in Emergency Medical Dispatch and 911 Instruction.

 

Professional Background:

Ed Pfeifer has been employed as a communications operator for more than 20 years, currently working for Manville, New Jersey Police Department. since 2004. He is a member of APCO, the NJ Communications Offices Association. Eddie is also an Exempt Life Member of the Wood-Ridge Volunteer Fire Department as well as a member of the NJ Exempt Fireman’s Association.
